Phantom Step
Phantom Step is a skill-driven, endless 2D vertical platformer that challenges players to climb as high as possible through procedurally generated levels while collecting coins, avoiding hazards, and mastering fast-paced platforming. A rising threat—be it lava, toxins, or another peril—adds constant urgency to each decision as you ascend ever higher.
At predetermined heights, you’ll encounter checkpoints where you can purchase Echoes using collected coins. Echoes are unique upgrades and abilities that modify gameplay, transforming how you approach the climb. However, with limited inventory slots, careful management is key: you’ll need to decide which Echoes to keep, sell, or invest in to unlock their full potential.
Death resets your progress, but each run is an opportunity to improve your skills, test new strategies, and discover powerful synergies between Echoes. Phantom Step rewards quick reflexes, precise movement, and clever planning as you climb higher and push your limits in this dynamic and unpredictable journey.
Disclaimer: There are currently 4 Echoes implemented in the game, 3 of which are working as expected. While more Echoes were planned, development time was limited—yet every existing Echo offers meaningful gameplay changes and strategic possibilities. While the game may not be fully feature-complete, it remains a fun, challenging experience for players who love skill-based platformers. Good luck, and see how high you can climb!
